Diy baby chicken costume

Hi friends! It has been a hot minute! I wanted to share Colton’s Halloween costume with you guys! We visited Zoo Boo at the Memphis Zoo and had so many people ask me where I got it from. I made it! This took some patience but it doesn’t take much skill. I will say if you have better sewing abilities than I do you can most certainly execute this better than I did.

Here is what you will need:

  • 2 onesies or leotards
  • 2 feather boas
  • Liquid stitch
  • Stitch witchery(& iron)
  • Poly-fil
  • Pilots cap
  • Red felt
  • Hot glue gun
  • Yellow tights/sweatpants
  • Yellow shoes

I recommend sizing up if you buy plain onesies (which by the way is much cheaper). I later found after I got the feathers glued down there is no stretch so getting the costume on and off is difficult each time. Definitely size up, it was far to late for us so we had to just go with it.

  • First you will want to start with unsnapping each onesie and stuff one down inside of the other. I got my iron out and began seaming together with my stitch witchery along the the bottom half and the necklines of the onesies. I also used my liquid stitch around the snaps and areas where I had a hard time getting the stitch witchery to adhere. You just want things secure enough so that your stuffing will not come out. Once you have the 2 onesie seamed together you can start stuffing it with Poly-fil. I found less is more for us. I did not go crazy with it because I did not want it to be too difficult to get on him. The extra plumpness makes things so much cuter!
  • Next step is start attaching your feather boas. If you have a bigger kiddo then you could probably start at the neckline but since Colton is little I wanted to keep the feathers out of his face and mouth. I started at his chest around, under his arms, and when I got around to his back I came up at an arch since the feathers back there would not be in his way. Liquid stitch or hot glue gun will work for this step. Because hot glue can be stringy I was worried it would get caught up in the feather so I personally used the liquid stitch to get things where I wanted and also made it easier to manipulate because the liquid stitch takes longer to dry. Then you can come back once you have things in place and do some dots of hot glue for even more security. I went all the way around and stopped right at his booty so I could get his yellow sweatpants on with no problem. After I made it all the way around the onesie with the feather boa I cut off a section of feathers then glued it from his shoulder to the back of his forearm. I did not come all the way to his wrist because his hands are constantly in his mouth.

*A tip is using safety pins when you are trying to get the feather boas started in all the different places.
* Something I did not do but would be very helpful when placing the feathers is to take your remaining polyfil bag and stuffing it down into the onesie.

  • Now you want to get your red felt and cut out the comb for your hat. I just eyeballed it. I know that is not very good instructions. There really is not a right or a wrong. If you get pretty close to the general shape then it will look perfectly fine. If you need an actual guideline, Martha Stewart has a print out you can trace.

*I suggested buying a few pieces of felt to give yourself more than one attempt at it. They are cheap.

  • I purchased a pilots cap from Amazon because I could tie it around Coltons chin. But any white hat will do. If you sew you can probably make this look much better than I did. I simply put a thin line of hot glue along the edge of the felt a little at a time and began pressing it together. Be careful not to get too close to the edge so you don’t have a lot of glue come out. Leave the bottom of the comb open. As you can see my first try I got to close to the edge and I did not like seeing all the glue that came out. So I tried again and it looked much better.

(First try)

(Second try and after it was glued to the hat)

  • Stuff the comb with a little bit of the Poly-fil, it doesn’t take much.
  • Stretch the hat over a bowl, begin hot gluing the comb to the center of the hat.

* Try the hat on your child first to get an idea where the comb needs to be placed.

  • Look everything back over to make sure you do not need to secure anymore places on the onesie or hat.

That’s it you are DONE! It is really not a hard project! Feather boas, hat, and moccasins came from Amazon. Onesie and yellow sweatpants are from Target. Felt, stitch witchery, liquid stitch, and Poly-fil came from hobby lobby! If I left out any instructions let me know. I hope this is helpful! I so enjoyed making his first Halloween costume! Happy Halloween!!

Mama needs a minute

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t extremely excited about a trip Justin and I are about to take. I would also be lying if I said I wasn’t scared to death, feeling guilty, and all the things about leaving my baby boy behind. It took me quite some time to even decide to go because I was so torn. I feel selfish for wanting to take some time for myself. Like I am burdening family for having to keep him. Worried because all of the what if’s…

.

.

.

Here is the truth. Whether you have been home with your baby since the day they were born or went back to work while still juggling the mom thing you are not selfish! You deserve to have a moment to yourself! Becoming a mama takes a toll on the old noggin. So a little time away can do the mind, body, and soul some good.

You are not burdening your family because guess what they would LOVE to keep them! They want to love on them too! After talking to a fellow mama friend I realized how beneficial one on one time with grandparents/aunts/uncles/friends can be for your child. Your child learns to build relationships with people other than mom and dad.

Lastly if we made decisions solely based on all the what if’s in life we would probably NEVER leave our houses. We can’t predict the future, all you can do make decisions based on what you think is best and God will take care of you.

Here is the really important thing. If you don’t feel like yourself or have a clear mind how can you be the best mom you can be to your babies? If you are not spending one on one time with your husband anymore how can you be the best parenting team you can be? A healthy relationship with your spouse is just as important! I am preaching to the choir over here! I am learning to take my own advice because I’m the guilty party when it comes to not asking for help. Just remember you are an amazing mama and only you can decide what is best for your child! Whether it’s a few hours or a week, take some time for yourself!❤

Dining room additions

Happy Friday to everyone!!

I FINALLY got these dining room projects finished! I have had these projects in the works since Feburary! What in the world? Apparently having a baby takes all of your time.🤷 Who knew?

So if you remember a while back and I mean a while back. I stole these mirrors from our dining room, gave them a fresh coat of paint and put them in our bedroom. I had a Shanty 2 chic project in mind to replace the wall space in our dining room. Shanty 2 chic has so many awesome projects and you don’t have to be a professional to do them. They have tons of easy and intermiate level projects that anyone can do with little to no skill. If you are looking for a furniture piece, wall art, or decor piece you name it they have got it!

These wall art pieces were super easy to do! Just make sure you stay centered when you are placing these wood shims. I got off center so we had to make some adjustments on them but nothing that couldn’t be fixed. The link is tricky to find on their website so I will link it here for you.

*Side note: I am loving the lambs ear and cotton combo! It is so pretty together.

Wood Shim wall art

Those wall sconces have been my absolute favorite addition. If I can find places for more believe me they will be going up. Usually when you see these you think cutting holes in the wall and hard wiring. I knew hubby would NOT be up for doing all of that since this is not our forever home. I stumbled across this no wiring trick from Nestingwithgrace and immediately knew I wanted some sconces to go with my wall art! All it took were the wall sconces, remote disk lights, thin wire, and long screws to put them up. Follow her on Instagram and check out her page! In her highlight videos she shows you how they did it and she also tells you what to do if you can’t use wire. I am also going to link her blog post on it. She links lots of wall sconces as well.

Magic light trick

A new rug and curtains are a couple more additions to tie the room back together. This rug is super popular on Wayfair. I got it for less than $200. Which is an awesome deal for a rug this size. It is thick and seems to be well made, now if I can just make sure nobody walks on it! 😂 I don’t think I will have a problem with spot cleaning it and honestly it wasn’t the most expensive rug so I don’t expect it to last forever which is why I got it. I think that is my theory with decorating. I don’t believe in spending a ton of money on the best of the best when it comes to furniture, decor, kitchen tools, etc… Because I know that regardless of the price of them they won’t last forever, something will get broken, spilled, or I will want to change the look. I like to find something for as little money as possible and the most practical/functional for our family.

Drop cloth curtains! This idea has been around for quite a while so it is not a new one. Tons of bloggers have tutorials and it is all over Pinterest! I will link the blog I got it from which is Little Vintage Nest! She is an awesome one to follow on Instagram.

These drop cloths curtains were easy to do and were an inexpensive option for our large windows. I have put off hanging curtains in our bay windows because it requires four curtain panels and we have three bay windows in our home. 🙅 So it was money I haven’t wanted to spend. The sun was damaging our hardwoods so I had to get these up as soon as possible!

I didn’t fuss over getting these curtains perfect. I wanted them flowy and draping the floors. I threw them in the wash, let them spin in the dryer, and hung them up. If you can’t hang them immediately I would try to drape them over something to prevent more wrinkles. I guessed at the length of the ruffle and adjusted them after I got them up. In her blog post she takes an iron to them but I didn’t have time to stand around ironing four 9 foot curtain panels. I took a steamer to them and the rest of the wrinkles will eventually fall. Besides who is really looking at your curtains that close?

*Helpful curtain tip: If you need several curtain rods like I did my go to store is Tuesday Morning. They are very inexpensive and they work perfect. They also have great long length curtains. I like to have floor to ceiling curtains most of the time and I can always find 108 inch panels here!

Yay for a finished project! I am happy I can finally share it with everyone. Hopefully there is some information or project some of you will find useful!

《Ikea finds》

Happy Friday friends!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I had several people interested in this, if you weren’t then keep on going. I am going to share anyway!

Ahh Ikea… How can you not love it! If you’ve never been your are missing out. It’s gives you all the magical feels of getting some great deals! If you are like me you love to get a deal or at least think that I did. Every time I walk through the store I always get inspired. I feel like there are some must haves or some things to always snag if you get the chance to go. Unfortunately some things you can’t order online but there are some that you can and it’s worth it if you can’t go in person.

I wanted to put together a list of a few things I feel like are always useful or great staple decor items!

I love their kitchen section! There is always something I can use for the kitchen. This trip snagged a cutting board because ours is no longer any good. Due to lack of knowing how to take care of a cutting board. Whoops 🤷 A couple of things I feel like you can’t have enough of are dish towels and wooden spoons so I grab a few while I’m there. Honestly if you are looking for any kitchen gadgets, dishes, canisters this is a great place for it and the prices are super affordable. So take a look at their kitchen section online, so many good things.

I also got these canisters this time! Wishing I would have gotten more because I could find a use for them in multiple rooms. Awesome for storing noodles, sugar, flour, grains, etc… I need them to be functional so I put things in there I would use on a daily. I love the look of storing grains and oats but those are not everyday items for us. Another idea I had for these canisters are for the bathroom or laundry room. Options with these are definitely wide spread! Bet you are thinking you need some huh?

Faux greenery! Most definitely a staple item. I love these little potted plants! Super cheap and they go with any decor. Only sad part is that you can’t order them online.

One more thing in this picture I haven’t talked about is that white enamel pitcher. The perfect farmhouse decor! They have 2 different sizes, this is the larger one.

Pillows. Pillows. Pillows. I have a problem🙋 For staple pillows these are awesome! Love the gingham print, might be slightly obsessed with it still. You have to buy the pillow cover and the inner separately but they are so cheap! I grabbed some pretty pale pink covers this past time. They don’t really get fancy with their pillows like ones you might find in a home store but for solid colors these are a must!

This is not my photo, I don’t have a photo of our bed yet. Found this picture on good ole Pinterest, I tried to find the source but couldn’t. I wanted to show y’all this stripe duvet cover. They actually have lots to choose from but this one I am loving. It would be a great way to change up your bedroom for a little over $30!

*ALSO* This is a good one. Ikea has a night stand for $35 and Ourfauxfarmhouse has a FABULOUS hack to make it look fancy! You can’t beat that price. Check out her Instagram to see the tutorial! This is her photo of her beautiful bedroom!

I hope that some will find this list of a few of my favorites to be helpful! I am all about finding affordable options because home items can be flat expensive. I hear Some of their larger items are good as well if you are in the market for a couch, night stand, or a rug. I can’t speak for the quality but always just be careful when buying big items from a store like this and do your research. Some of these other items in the picture above I have and some I don’t but still great picks in my opinion. I will put the links to the items below. If you get the chance to go to the store enjoy exploring!

You’re going to break my heart and I’m okay with that.

In my heart I have always known I was going to be a mom to a little boy. I have longed for that moment my whole life. Until you came into my life I did not realize how much I could love you.

You are going to break my heart and I am okay with that. Probably more than once and that’s alright.

You will take your first step and it came way too fast.

You will have your first day of school and I will cry my eyes out.

You will become a teenager and suddenly it won’t be cool for me to be around.

You will take off for the first time in your truck and I will worry while you are gone.

You will go your first date and I’ll know it’s only the beginning of you leaving me for a wife.

You will have your first heart break and it will break mine too.

You will go off to college and you will probably get into trouble.

You will get married and I won’t get your whole heart anymore.

You will bring me my first grandchild and it will be your turn to feel what I’m feeling.

All of these things will break my heart and bring me so much joy at the same time. Whatever decisions you make, mistakes, and proud moments I will always be there for you. You will make me smile and make me cry. All of these things I am proud to go through for you because you are my son and I will always be your mama.

As long as you know all of these things and come back to me when you need me. You can break my heart and I am okay with that.

Your mama will always love you.

Postpartum Fears

Hey Mamas! I wanted to put together a little list of things that helped me in recovery after having my sweet little boy. I am a first timer so I am certainly not an expert! If you are like me you want all the incite you can get. So if you know a mama to be share it, tag them, or send it to them maybe they will find something helpful. Just so you know my blog is extremely informal so English teachers I am sorry!

I am a planner, so for my recovery I needed a plan in order to give myself some sort of comfort. The recovery after giving birth is what gave me the most fear. The thought of being in pain, bleeding for weeks, learning how to breastfeed, and hello… now having a NEWBORN was super scary! I wanted to have all the tools I thought might make things a little easier recovery wise. And let’s face it if I sent my husband to the store for any of those things he would not have the first clue! So off to Pinterest I went, I am convinced anything can be found on Pinterest. I read several different blogs and advice from other moms then I made a list of things I felt would be most beneficial to me. I would recommend doing the same thing. Everyone is different and prefers different things so take in all the information you can and figure out what suits you best.

Basics

The good, the bad, and the ugly… These are just a few basic things you will definitely need in my opinion. Numero uno you just had a baby so most likely you don’t want to use toilet paper for a bit. I bought a pack of super soft wash cloths to use to begin with. When I got brave enough I started using wipes. I bought the double pack of Cottonelle wipes ( I promise buy multipe) and Summers eve wipes for on the go when you have those first couple of Drs appointments. Tucks pads they give you in the hospital but I used the ones I bought for home as well. They will also give you Colace while you are there, I can promise you want to continue to take something! Yikes… Hemorrhoid cream! You may or may not need it but I wouldn’t want to be caught without it because after all it’s likely. The rest is self explanatory, lotion because you will be washing your hands a ton and don’t forget your peri bottle when you leave the hospital.

Breastfeeding

I can’t give you breastfeeding advice because we tried and I failed. Please no judgement it was best for me and my babe. Mamas who breastfeed successfully are awesome because it was harder than I ever imagined. I knew I wanted to try so I made sure I had a few things that would help. Also, Target has some great nursing tanks and bras!

The obvious

Pads are sort of a duh! I typically buy this brand, everyone has different preferences. Personally I ended up not using as many of the extra heavy pads as I thought so I bought way to many! It’s really just a guessing game. Extra heavy for night time and heavy for day time is what I did. Also bought some lighter pads because it lasts about 2 or 3 weeks. 👎

Best thing I did👇

Adult diapers! Kind of a weird thing for a 25 year old to put in her buggy! Don’t put these in your recovery basket pack these for the hospital! It was SO much easier to wear after giving birth. These were well made and held up very good during my hospital stay. I liked being able to toss the whole thing when I was done. I did not try on what the hospital provides, something about having your own made it more comfortable. You need all the comfort you can get! I don’t really have a rhyme or reason as to why I bought this kind, maybe because the package didn’t make me feel like I was buying adult diapers. 🤷

*Side note* The best piece of advice I got from my SIL was after delivery your nurse will help you go to the bathroom. She will show you everything you need to do. Let her help you as much as possible! I am a super private person so if she would not have said that to me I would have been much more reserved during my labor and recovery. Take as much help you can get! Fyi: My SIL was my person, she got us through my entire labor so if you have a person bring them in with you. She was there for the laboring, then it was just me and my hubby for pushing.

A few more things I did that helped:

-Buying some cheap boy short panties. I got some that were super stretchy and comfy. I stuffed these in my box as well.

-Because I was given so much fluid my feet and legs were practically balloons. My Dr. suggested compression socks. I wish I had them while we were in the hospital but I got them after the fact.

– If you are able, stock up on household items. You don’t want to be out of shampoo the day after you come home. Items like; paper plates, plastic cups, paper towels, toilet paper, toiletries, drinks, snacks and some easy freezer meals.

Making a postpartum basket was extremely helpful in my recovery. I had a “natural” birth, natural as in vaginal. I can’t speak for c-section recovery but I know there are tips out there for that. Some women may not find it helpful to prepare these thing ahead of time but for me it was. If you have your baby shower relatively early and register at Target wait for that. All of these items add up very quickly so I was able to use a gift card or two to help me pay for some of this.

I hope a mama to be will find this helpful! May your delivery and recovery go as smooth as possible!

Happy Monday friends!

So I want to talk a little bit about making simple things into something special. Our home was just a plain builder grade nothing fancy home when we bought it. To be really honest it still is, what has made it special is the character we have added. Using things we have found in antique malls, thrift stores, Facebook trading sites, etc… I would say about 75% of what is in our house was a bargain find or has been built to save money. Don’t feel like you have to have a brand new home to make it pretty because the feeling of making an old home seem new is really rewarding! Quick easy projects are what I look for these days because who has the time anymore. Staying at home with my little man has definitely encouraged me to be more frugle in everything I do. Worth it for sure to spend these precious years with him. A budget doesn’t have to stop you from a cute house! All you need is some creativity.

Lately what I am liking to do is take a look around the house and see what I can move from room to room. Does anyone else rearrange all the time?🙋 Bueller? Anyone? Am I an island? Anyway…

A couple of weeks ago I posted about giving some life to things you already have in your house. I took some mirrors that were above our dining room buffet, put a fresh coat of paint on them, and stuck them on our nights stands in the master. It accomplished two things, a new look in our bedroom and gave me reason to work on another project for the dining room!

This project didn’t cost me a dime. I bought these mirrors years ago on a Facebook trading site for $20. Most of the time we have some paint samples or spray paint sitting around. So there you go, and new look that was effortless.

👆Here was a before. Much better right?

New project👇

I have loved our wooden monogram letters and this huge yard sale picture frame for so long. This color blue was super popular when we first bought the house. It was time for a fresh look so I grabbed some spray paint that we already had! Black is the new turquoise! Best part about it was that it cost me NOTHING!

All it look was a little bit of paint to change the room! I am a big fan of using the resources you already have. Give it a try, I think you will be surprised what you can come up with. I have loved seeing how our house has changed just within the 4 years we have been here. Style is ever changing, stick with your neutrals and basics then it is easy to add the small details.

*Decorating tip- Whatever color you choose to use in a room make sure you distribute it throughout the room. If all your color is on one side the room or on one wall it will seem uneven. You can also bring some color to the floor to help with that as well.

Shelving is another easy way to add some character to a room! *Tip* When you are decorating shelves choose your focal points then add your fillers. Put your height in the middle and the rest will fall into place!

Hopefully these easy upcycles will inspire you to bring some new life into your home! *Tip* When starting on a room decide on the look you are going for, find a focal point you want for the wall, find some vases you like, add some florals or greenery and you have a good start! A room doesn’t get decorated all at one time unless you have all the money. Choose your starting point and slowly work toward the look you want.

Nursery Tour and Newborn lifestyle photoshoot

Gosh where do I start! Decorating is something I love to do so much! When I found out I was pregnant I immediately started Colts nursery. I knew I wanted something simple and not too fussy. I wanted him to be able to grow into his room. A specific theme is opposite of the direction I wanted. I stuck with neutrals because that is my favorite thing, you can literally turn it into anything. My goal was to be able to transition Colts room into toddler years with ease and not feeling like I was bound to a theme.

I am not really sure where I came up with “Vintage Industrial” it just sort of hit me that it was the perfect direction. We are a hard working, vintage car loving, firefighter family so it was the perfect fit.

This vintage fire truck petal car is the first piece that we bought and it helped shape what I wanted for the room. Fire trucks are far from what I wanted his room to be but it was a great personal touch with something so near and dear to our hearts.

Click for etsy shop

Click for printing and framing website

These pictures were another one of my inspirations! As soon as I came across a blueprint type picture on Pinterest it sold me on the industrial idea. I love the way the pictures look. I found an etsy shop and had the digital download with in minutes. All I had to do is download the picture to the website and with in weeks I had my prints already framed for me! I used Photobarn, I have used them before and I have always loved anything I get back from them. Another great thing about Photobarn is there is always a sale or deal going on!

Shiplap! Everybody loves it! I’ve been dying to get some shiplap in our house. This room was you typical 90’s house complete with popcorn ceilings and chair rails. I absolutely did not like the chair rail. From what I had read it was not an easy task taking down chairs rails and getting the wall back smooth like it should. This was the perfect solution! This was our first time ever putting up shiplap, we did the knock off version which saved us tons and it looks just as good!

Shelves! These shelves honestly tied the entire room together. Most of the pieces I placed on the shelves are either from an antique mall or have sentimental value. Like the Vintage comic books that were Colts papa’s. How cool is it that he kept them all of these years and I unknowingly name him Colton?
I have shelves similar to this in our entire house. Floating shelves, bracket shelves, now these industrial pipe shelves. The pipes and the fittings can add up super quick but it is still cheaper to do this yourself if you are wanting to create this type of look. If you decide to do these make sure you get these in studs!

The dresser was an awesome thrift find! I was looking for a pretty large tall dresser and I totally got lucky finding this! It has been completely refurbished and the outcome was great!

Reading and toy corner!

Tiny details!

Personalized crib sheet was such a nice detail.

I hope it can inspire some other mama’s with their nursery. I know I have shared Colton’s nursery before but I honestly just wanted to put it in a blog to have for myself. It was the most fun room I’ve ever decorated and by far my favorite project. It made my pregnancy so enjoyable. There would be lots of days I would just got sit in my sweet little boys nursery and imagine life with him and now I can’t possibly imagine it without him.

Easter Basket for your little

Hello friends! I rounded up some Easter basket ideas I had saved for Colt. Most of these are not specifically Easter themed so they would actually be perfect for gift giving in general.

When it comes to buying stuff for my babe I always try to be sensible on what I’m purchasing. I want to spend my money on things that are going to be most beneficial. Usually I ask myself if it can be used on a daily basis, is it educational, or can I get a long use of a product to help be my deciding factor. I am sure that is something that most moms do. Honestly these are just items that I thought would be good for us, so they may not fit for everyone. I wanted to share anyway in case it sparked some ideas for others.

Wee Gallery

This is something top on my list! I feel that as soon as your little one can start holding things it is not to early to get these. These seem like they would be entertaining and educational at the same time. That is a win for me! Wee gallery has several other books and cards to choose from that are reasonably priced.

Easter Baskets

Ok so obviously these are specific to Easter. Most of these baskets are around $20-$30 and the personalized liners are $10-$15. I know you can go to the dollar store to get a cheap Easter basket but you also get about one use out of that before it ends up in the garbage. These baskets are on my list to order because we can use it year after year. But… it is possible you could find a basket similar to these at Hobby lobby or Michael’s 50% off then just order the liner. Most likely I will be trying that route first.

Boon Products

We already use a few Boon items on a daily basis like the grass drying rack. I wanted to show y’all this feeding spoon especially if you plan on or make your own baby food. I had another Mama show me this and it almost seems genius! The rest of these may not be useful to anyone else but we need entertaining bath time toys! Their website is definitely worth a look, their feeding and bath products seem extremely useful.

Kickee Pants

These are the softest pajamas EVER! So many prints and styles to choose from. For pajamas they are expensive but for a special occasion gift absolutely worth it! Seriously these seem so comfortable for Colt. We only have one pair so I’m using this as an excuse to get another. 🙊

Britt &Bo

I don’t have a girl but I am just going to leave this here because how precious!!

Swim diapers

I have no idea if these are good or not. Spending money on throw away swim diapers is something I would like to avoid if possible. The size on these are adjustable so your tot can grow with it. I think we are going to give them a shot!

Copper and Pearl

These are my favorite bibs! Tons of cute prints! They make awesome baby shower presents.

Old Navy

Once again I don’t have a girl but those little ballet slippers are the cutest! One thing I love about Old Navy is that there is always a sale! Right now they currently have 30% off your purchase which makes both of those shoes less than $10. They have lots of cute spring stuff right now for baby and mommy. I might show a few things I recently got for myself.

Maybe that was helpful to some or at least sparked ideas. My plan is to purchase a few of those main items, then go to the dollar store for some fillers to actually make it an Easter basket.

I sincerely hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Feedback and suggestion are always welcome!

Spring cleaning

Ok so first off head over to Target and check out their dollar section! All heart eyes at their spring goodies! There was definitely a few things I wanted to get my hands on, unfortunately our local Target was picked over. I whipped up this little spring cleaning basket hoping it would give me some incentive.

Let’s talk about incentive. A thing that motivates or encourages one to do something. Sometimes I think wow, incentive that’s a great thing, right? Do you let something or someone incite you to do something that potentially may not be a true indication of who you are?

Yet again, sometimes we need a little push don’t you think? Something or someone to give us encouragement for the better.

Just thinking out loud here. What a fine line we all walk with so many meanings to so many words. Something to make you to think about.

Anyway! These adorable flower sponges and spray bottles are sure to put you in the mood for doing some cleaning. Go put together a spring cleaning basket to give yourself a little bit of encouragement!

A side note, if you are looking for a farmhouse sink look what we did is a great alternative. We were on a budget and I so longed for a farmhouse sink. Honestly who doesn’t? Those cost a pretty penny. This sink was around $100! It gave me the look I was going for and no where near the cost! Here is the link!
